Just got back from my dentist and had to write about it…
Because… LOOK!! This is my dentist’s waiting room. Beautiful, huh?
This is Grianini, Gray Dental Associates in Washington, DC (http://www.smiledc.com/). Look at the clean lines, chic sofa, calming color palette.
My dentist’s office is actually a wonderful place to go. I actually dread look forward to going there. Now, mind you my dentist and his wife are good friends, but that’s just a detail here. Not only are the dentists and staff wonderful, but the interior design is amazing. I find that when I am there it all feels good, and when I leave I’ve just had a completely holistic experience. Can you say that about your dentist? If not you should shop around.
I love this piece of art (above) with its texture and light airy feeling, and guess what? It is rice paper!
Yes, an inexpensive piece of paper floating in a frame. You could do this at home too and Voila, beautiful, calming art and not too much money spent.
And …I love the reception staff…
They.Are.The.Best.
They are always expecting me. They know my name, know (and remember!) things about me after 10 years of going there. When I am checking in and checking out they tell me such nice things, and they do this with everyone. They tell me I’m pretty, they like my outfit, I look so young, how are the kids, and on and on. Love love them!
So I leave and my teeth are clean, I’m calm and organized, and I feel young and pretty, because they’ve just told me so. And I’ve just entered and then exited a beautiful, balanced, calming interior. For those of us who love interiors and design, this is huge.
So yes, I suppose this is a full-blown plug for my dentist because Dr. Gene Giannini, his staff and the dental office are the BEST! And one last thing…it does not smell like a dentist office in the least. That’s huge too!!
