The Papered Powder Room

The powder room is one of our favorite spaces in which to make a bold statement. It’s a space you don’t spend much time in, hence the chances of you getting tired of a pattern or color is greatly reduced. It’s also a space that provides an opportunity to delight guests.

Wallcovering has come a long way in the past decade or so. If you can dream it, it’s probably out there. And if it’s not, there are many companies who will fabricate custom designs or colorways. Here are a few of our favorites:

Not only is this pattern lovely, but the lilac color is simply swoon-worthy!

The large-scale of this chinoiserie paper keeps it modern and fresh.  Placing it within a paneled wall ensures the space is not overwhelmed by the pattern.

We love this updated animal print. It offers a great balance of movement and symmetry.

You can nearly never go wrong with ‘Woods’. An instant classic, this pattern offers an organic aesthetic with contemporary coloration that keeps it interesting.

Try embracing traditional patterns like this aviary print and Turkish rug. Pair them with modern touches like the vanity, vessel sink. and sconces to create a more eclectic space.

Alternatively, give a traditional space a modern twist with a bold geometric paper.

Or consider a paneled paper. Though these tend to be on the pricier side, the impact is unparalleled. And since most powder rooms are small, relative to other spaces, it’s a fantastic way to feature one of these stunners without breaking the bank.

Wallpapering a powder room generally takes a good installer 1-2 days. That’s almost immediate gratification! We’d love to help you pick the perfect paper for your powder room.

Stay Inspired,
