Celebrity Interior Design: Brad Pitt & Angelina’s New Orleans Mansion
As you may know, I live and design in and around both Washington, DC and, more recently, New Orleans. We travel to New Orleans quite frequently to visit family and for work obligations.
Ahhh New Orleans…The history, melting pot of cultures, and unique architecture has quickly made it one of my favorite cities!
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have always been known for their worldly style and fabulous taste in homes. Having set roots in New Orleans, the adventurous couple purchased the above 1830’s New Orleans mansion in the heart of the French Quarter during the filming of Benjamin Button.
Boasting over 7,400 luxurious square feet, and renovated by the Pitt-Jolies, this lavish masonry mansion showcases beautiful chandeliers, crown moldings, high-ceilings, fireplaces, a private courtyard, marble bathrooms, murals, and even an in-home elevator. Would you expect anything less?
This gem was recently placed back on the market by the power couple for 6.5 million dollars late last year.
Let’s take a look inside this unique manor!
Ornate detailing and a Parisian feel! This home is like stepping into another world.
Fun Fact: Did you know that Brangelina are heavily involved in the beautification and revitalization of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina? The Make it Right foundation, created in 2007, creates LEED Platinum-certified homes for people in need!
Old-world and cozy!
Ever the design-enthusiast, Brad Pitt created “No Gilt, No Glory”, a furniture collection featuring unique pieces like the above glass-topped, 24 karat gold-plated table.
The home has a private courtyard that offers the in-demand family a bit of privacy. Courtyards not only add privacy, they assist in the air flow in this hot climate.
Lavish but understated decor and light-fixtures accentuate the architectural details in this home.
A gourmet chef’s kitchen with updated fixtures gives a modern touch to the otherwise traditional and stately feel of the mansion.
